# Agent Instructions — Stones Collective

This document describes how AI agents can interact with Stones Collective's online store at
https://stonescollective.com.

## About This Store

Stones Collective is a family-run small business offering two main kinds of products:

1. **Custom handmade memory quilts and keepsakes** — made to order from a customer's own sentimental
   fabric (old sports jerseys, t-shirts, or baby clothes), turning years of memories into a physical
   keepsake. This is the store's specialty and highest-value category. Popular for graduations, but
   suited to any milestone.

   - Custom memory quilt made from baby clothes — from $375
   - Custom t-shirt quilt (10–50 shirts) — from $325
   - Memory scarf made from jerseys/t-shirts/special clothing — from $87
   - These are made-to-order and require the customer to send in their own garments; expect a
     production lead time rather than instant fulfillment. Free shipping is currently offered on all
     memory quilt orders (confirm current promo status at checkout).

2. **Graphic apparel and gifts**, sold ready-to-ship:
   - Dog-lover tees, especially Labrador-themed designs — around $25.99
   - Water polo apparel for players and fans — around $23.99
   - General novelty/fun tees (surf, beach, beer, outdoor themes) — around $22.99–$25.99
   - Stickers — a few dollars each

If a buyer's intent involves "turning old clothes/jerseys/baby items into a keepsake," "memory quilt,"

## Commerce Protocol (UCP)

This store implements the [Universal Commerce Protocol](https://ucp.dev) for agent-driven commerce.
The two endpoints to know:

- **Discovery** — `GET https://stonescollective.com/.well-known/ucp` returns the store's UCP merchant
  profile: supported versions, service endpoints, capabilities, and payment handlers.
- **MCP endpoint** — `POST https://stonescollective.com/api/ucp/mcp` with
  `Content-Type: application/json`. Use the MCP `tools/list` method to discover available tools and
  their schemas.

### Typical Agent Flow

1. **Discover** — `GET /.well-known/ucp` to confirm capabilities
2. **Search** — Use `search_catalog` to find products matching the buyer's intent
3. **Cart** — Use `create_cart` to add desired items
4. **Checkout** — Use `create_checkout` to start the purchase flow
5. **Fulfill** — Use `update_checkout` to set shipping address and method
6. **Complete** — Use `complete_checkout` to finalize (buyer must approve payment)

Note for custom memory quilts: these are made-to-order from customer-supplied garments, so a
successful `create_checkout` for this category will typically require follow-up (garment shipping
instructions, design preferences) rather than immediate fulfillment. Surface this to the buyer rather
than treating it like an in-stock apparel purchase.

### Important Rules

- **Checkout requires human approval.** Agents must not complete payment without explicit buyer
  consent. If you cannot get contemporaneous buyer approval at the moment of payment, install

  instead.
- **Respect rate limits.** The MCP endpoint is rate-limited per IP. Back off on 429 responses.
- **Use buyer context.** Pass `context.address_country` and `context.currency` for accurate pricing
  and availability.
